iPads!!! So excited!

I have exciting news to share! I applied to have our class pilot a Learning Lab 1:1 iDevice experience and we GOT IT! :)

The Learning Lab pilot program is a 2-3 week opportunity in which the kids will utilize individual technology tools throughout their school day to engage in learning. The program is intended to explore how children can enhance their learning through the use of technology. The students will be working towards the same learning objectives, but may go about the process in a different learning manner.

I have been reading and reading about how others are using ipads in the classroom! I am ALL ears for anyone that wants to give me their thoughts! We get them in April so I have some time, but I'm super excited! :)

Getting Back At It!

School is right around the corner for me (about a week) and my family and I are taking one last trip together to SC-Myrtle Beach to be exact! I am super excited to spend time together before the grind again. With that said I have been thinking a lot about the new COMMON CORE! Um, anyone else nervous about it? 

I am on my districts L.A. committee and we have been trying to align our standard based report card to them, lets just say it was A LOT of work! Now that it is "kinda" aligned I'm not sure where to start in regards to teaching it all! :) We have Scott Foresman as our reading series and I like it, but should we be using more specific texts? Anyone else having the anxiety that I am?

Hello, Hello, Hello-

So I have had the week "off" because my student teacher is taking on full responsibility of the classroom! :) She is doing a great job, but I do miss my kids! On a side note, TOTALLY excited that I have followers! I promise I will go and follow each and every one of you.

Now on to more news...I have been reading blogs the whole year and so many people come up with such wonderful ideas. With this being said I decided that I would try and create my own...of course will help of what others have done.

Below you will find my Nonsense Word Game: ZUP! We do Aimsweb testing and at the beginning of the year my kids had a hard time reading the nonsense words...DAH, go figure they aren't words! :) So I thought I would create this game! Click below and get it! I'm thinking of opening a TPT store not sure though. If you download this and play it please let me know if you like it and what I should change if anything! :)

Student Teacher

My student teacher started this week! YEAH! She is amazingly awesome which means that I might actually get a chance to start up my blog! :)

We are getting ready for Open House and the kids are really excited to have their parents come and see what they have done! I will post pictures soon!

First, I want to say THANK YOU to all the blogs I follow! You have inspired me to become a better teacher with all of your ideas and encouragement! I have been teaching for 10 years and the new ideas are welcomed with open arms! I just hope I can do the same for you!
